This week, we continue sharing information about the ever-important Fundraising Plan.

I have found that many Fundraising Plan resources aimed at new nonprofits can also be helpful for all nonprofits, especially those currently reviewing and revising 2019 Plans.

Most sources agree there are some standard components that should be present in all Fundraising Plans.

Goals—goals are your targets and the first step to determine if your fundraising efforts are having success.

Costs—you must know how much fundraising activities cost to determine success.

Timing—always important to look at when you plan to do your fundraising activities.

Integrating your Fundraising Plan with other plans—the strategic plan, board development plans, program planning and evaluation, event plans, etc.—must also be considered.

What makes a good fundraising plan great?

  • Plans with purposeful actions aimed at reaching specific goals
  • Plans that are data-driven from beginning to end are great plans
  • Plans with a strong statement for support.

The following resources offer information, tools and other information for developing, reviewing and revising Fundraising Plans:
